Julia Beck is a character in the Prime Video original series, The Summer I Turned Pretty. She is portrayed by Kyra Sedgwick.
Aunt Julia is Susannah’s no-nonsense half-sister who has always kept her space from Susannah and Cousins Beach. The Fisher brothers don’t know their enigmatic aunt well, and by extension their cousin Skye, but it’s clear the years haven’t softened any of Julia’s hard edges.[1]
Biography[]
Julia's father left her mother and married Susannah's mother six months later. She grew up with Susannah, her sister, going to Cousins in the summers. Julia and Susannah grew apart and Julia kept her distance from Susannah's family until she passed away.

Season 2[]
Julia runs into Conrad and Jeremiah unexpectedly at the Cousins house when she goes there to sell. Conrad confronts Julia about moving so quickly to sell the house but noting that she couldn't even find the time to go to her own sister's funeral. Julia explains that she doesn't have the money to keep up the house, even if she wanted to. The only option is to sell and she has arranged for a realtor to come by the house.
Julia baked muffins for an open house, which the kids tried to sabotage by breaking the air conditioning. Julia was forced to reschedule the open house. While the kids are away at the boardwalk, Julia moved out all of the furniture in the house.
Later, Julia informs them all that she has a buyer and that the deal is done. Skye, however, pleads with her mom to find some way to make this right with her cousins. Julia agrees and arranges with the buyer to put a term in the contract to rent the house every summer for one week to Jeremiah and Conrad.
Laurel goes up to Cousins and upon hearing about the situation, she agrees to talk to Julia. She convinces Julia to cancel the sale and consider selling to Conrad and Jeremiah's dad instead. Julia agrees and sells to him.

Julia is a serious, seemingly cold person. She is warmer with her daughter, Skye.
